Okauchee Lake

There were some people out on icehouse bay this afternoon.   I was a little surprised how far out down the bay they were fishing.  Usually people stack up on the west shoreline.

Went out at 9 in the morning last week missed a massive Muskie on a bucktail and steel leader. Caught a bass and a good sized perch. 

Heading out with my Wife and Son this evening. I haven't been out here in a few years but since Oconomowoc Lake became a dead sea I want to try something different.

I haven't noted any posts lately. Looking for a pointer or two. We like to fish multi-species and all C&R. Bass are my wife's favorite. PM if you like.

Just floated around casting big things and little things with no action. Then a pretty muskie took the medium golden shiner we had.  We were in about 20 feet of water and the shiner was about five feet from the bottom.

Out mid morning for 4 hours.....6 Pike & 5 LMB in the boat,including my buddies 3lber.,in photo.All were caught on medium running crankbaits.

There is a boat launch at Golden Mast but they do charge, it's been quite a while since I've launched from there so don't know what they charge, There are also a few bars that have launches but I don't have any info on if they allow people to launch or what they charge.

Hey guys, is the public landing pretty much the only option for putting in a boat? I see there appears to be another landing near a restaurant. Thx for any info. 

Fished Okauchee the day before the opener and caught 4 bass one 19.5 inch 4.5-pound bass and two 18-inch bass on Friday along with some crappie and gills. On the day of the opener, we fished crappies around 6:30 in the morning and we got our limit within less than an hour all 9-10 inch range fish. later in the day, we went out to target Musky, Talked to the game warden and he said not much action was happening with muskies he said one gentleman had a follow that was it. I ended up landing one 27-inch pike along with one 37-inch musky in 5 feet of water. missed 4 other follows by the boat all 40ish inch plus range class muskies.
