Kring Point State Park Campground

This is the ideal place to spend a few nights for water-loving campers. Kring Point State Park features a pet-friendly campground with 100 sites suitable for tents, trailers, and RVs. Some sites are equipped with electric hookups while others are primitive sites. Campers can get great water views regardless of their campsites.

Most campsites can accommodate rigs 40 feet long while three campsites can accommodate a maximum RV or trailer length of 50 feet. Some campsites are designed as tents only. During the peak season, from the end of June to end of August, reservations are advisable. Also, electric sites fill up quickly so it is best to make an early reservation. Campsites can be reserved up to nine months in advance.

Amenities offered in the campground include grills, fire rings, water spigots, picnic tables, and flush toilets. There are many bathhouses with nice showers and bathrooms. A coin-operated washer and dryer are available. There is no sewer connection but trailers and RVs have access to a dump station near the campground exit. Seasonal Actvities in Kring Point State Park

In-Season
Fishing

Water activities at Kring Point State Park are plentiful, including fishing at the river or at the bay. Known for its crystal clear waters, St. Lawrence River has an abundance of bass. Anglers are free to fish from the dock, the banks, or from a kayak. Interestingly, fishermen staying in campsites with water access can fish right from the back of the sites. Also, largemouth bass and northern pike are native to Goose Bay. Children can spend their entire day fishing from the kids’ dock. Additional fishing spots are available in Morgan Island.

Boating

Adorned with multiple docks both at Goose Bay and the St. Lawrence River, this park is boater friendly and popular with kayakers. Depending on the season and water levels, both beginner and expert paddlers can enjoy this thrilling activity. After parking your motorhome in the many parking slots near the bay and river banks you can hop on your boat for an adventure of a lifetime. For convenience, two boat launches are available.

Hiking

Dotted with the most gorgeous nature trails hiking is a great activity which can be enjoyed by visitors of all ages. Given the small size of the park, hiking trails are limited. One of the most interesting trails is the hike to Morgan Island. So if you are camping in Kring Point State Park, then make sure you take the half-mile hike along the small bridge to this small but beautiful Island. Inside the Island, you can find restrooms, a dock, and a small pavilion. The huge rocks and hilly sections add to the beauty of the park. During winter guests can enjoy cross-country skiing.

Off-Season
Hunting

Though a seasonal activity, hunting is a favorite activity for most of the park’s visitors. Waterfowl are the most common hunted game. Usually, hunting season starts on Columbus Day. A hunting permit is required.

Swimming

Kring Point State Park features a small sandy beach surrounded by rocky cliffs on the St. Lawrence River that provides the perfect setting for a number of fun water activities. June to August signals the high season for water adventures. For swimmers, there are lifeguards patrolling the beach during this time. Campers, as well as day users, can access the beach.

Picnicking

Surrounded by fantastic views of the Goose Bay and St. Lawrence River, Kring Point State Park houses one of the most serene day use areas in New York. Located near the beach the picnic area is equipped with tables, pavilions, and benches. Guests can enjoy their picnic lunch as they listen to calm waves of the St. Lawrence River. Pets are not permitted in the picnic area. For families, there is a kid-friendly playground nearby.
