Temperatures cooler with highs in the 50's to lows in low 30's and breezy. Turkey season is in full swing until May 12. For fishing information, please contact the Chuck Gipp Decorah Fish Hatchery at 563-382-8324.

Black Crappie - Fair: Find crappie around structure. Use a flashy lure to attract attention.

Bluegill - Fair: Bluegills around structure near shore. Use small jigs tipped with waxworms for best luck.

Fish activity improving with warmer water temperatures.

Largemouth Bass - Fair: Fish the drop-offs, downed trees, or rocky areas. Use crankbaits or spinnerbaits for best luck.

Chance of rain Saturday evening through Monday. Temperatures variable with highs upper 50's to lows in 20's and breezy.

Fish activity slow with cooler water temperatures. Few anglers this week.

Bluegill - Slow: Bluegills around structure near shore. Use small jigs tipped with waxworms for best luck.

Black Crappie - Slow: Find crappie around structure. Use a flashy lure to attract attention.

Largemouth Bass - Slow: Fish the drop-offs, downed trees, or rocky areas. Use crankbaits or spinnerbaits for best luck.

Temperatures warming through weekend with highs above 0 but lows below. Ice formation on many lakes is slow due to snow cover. 382.8324.

The lake had about an inch of ice before last weeks 20 inch snow. Ice angling not recommended due to slowed ice formation.

Many hunting seasons are now open. For fishing information, please contact the Chuck Gipp Decorah Fish Hatchery at 563-382-8324.

Bluegill - Fair: Try tube jigs tipped with artificial attractants or small piece of worm under a bobber.

Channel Catfish - Fair: Trophy sized catfish abundant in this lake. Use dead chub or squished minnow fished off lake bottom near woody debris.

Water temperatures cooling with good clarity. Slow presentation for best luck.

Black Crappie - Good: Crappie are taking tube jigs tipped with crappie nibbles off jetties. Also try trolling around lake to find suspended fish.

Bluegill - Good: Find gills off jetties or along rocky shoreline in morning moving to deeper water in the evening. Try tube jigs tipped with artificial attractants or small piece of worm under a bobber.

Channel Catfish - Fair: Trophy sized catfish abundant in this lake. Use dead chub or squished minnow fished off lake bottom near woody debris.
