History & Status of the Fishery
Mallard offers a variety of fish species, so don't be surprised if your bait comes under attack from a hungry largemouth bass, walleye, northern pike or muskie! Although this lake does receive fairly heavy fishing pressure, there are some truly memorable fish to be caught. Forage species include: yellow perch, gizzard shad, bluegill, green sunfish, golden shiner, and bluntnose minnows.
This fish community is surveyed every four years while trap-net surveys targeting muskie take place each spring. Three brush piles and a pallet style fish crib were placed in the lake in 2016. *New regulations for FPDDC lakes and ponds take effect April 1st, 2017.

Mallard is a really good fishing lake. i think this lake is best for ice fishing. it takes some time to learn the lake but once you do, you can catch some nice fish. if you are looking to catch bass this is the place to go.

I ve been fishing this lake since we have had good ice it took me a couple times too find the good holes, since then Ive caught big bass every time Ive been there, just recently the pike and walleye have started. I go out there two or three times a week. its a great lake to fish, it just take's some serching for the right spots.
