2024 Spring Turkey Application

GD DNR I got on and in at the time on the one page there was 7 tags left for Z2 D, I pick it and it says they are in peoples carts pick again!  uggggg so got E    like I usually do.  O well cant wait for gobbler slayin!

Reminder to get your leftover spring turkey permits starting next Monday at 10am in Zone 1, Tuesday in Zone 2 and so on...

I just noticed my permit is for zone 1, 1st period. I haven't hunted the SW area in 30+ years.  I applied for zone 2 and zone ​5.... another tag bites the dust

Our group of 7 received first choice unlike last year! 2nd choice. HOWEVER we all filled by Friday noon! GO figure!

Received my spring permit today, should say it on your dnr account.

I looked up on my account and you can see your choices in your​(Applications). If you didn't select any time it will show you this and should help you get a point instead of a tag you didn't ask for.

I would call back and ask to talk to somebody else higher up. Happened twice to me once given a earlier tag as gave me a zone didn't hunt other time same zone but wrong time period given that didn't pick. Restored my point so had prefer a nice next year. Ask them to do that I'm sure they would , keep a copy  of your application so you can show them their mistake. Shouldn't have to do that but mistakes happen as we all knoe.

I understand your frustration...two years ago I applied for Zone 1, Seasons B and C and I didn't draw ANYTHING! I wasn't pi$$ed until I saw there were 1200 Season C tags for sale over the counter for Zone 1....then I lost my mind! My brother didn't draw a permit in Zones 1 OR 3 last year, despite there being a couple thousand tags combined for sale OTC for those units. I don't get it? Then you call to ask about it and they say "it is a computer-generated draw system, we don't do it." Unbelievable! I will say though, it takes some serious luck to buy a Zone 1, Period C tag over the counter...But to me it is inexcusable to NOT give a hunter who applied SOME SORT of tag in the draw, even if it is not their first or second choice. What sucks is I own property in Zone 1 and cannot get landowner preference because I don't own 50 contiguous acres...again, BS...

My favorite though is a buddy of mine last year that applied for Zone 1, Periods 1 and 2 and for second choice put Zone 3...they gave him a Zone 7, Period 1 tag for Northern WI...he doesn't know anyone who lives up there and said he was not going turkey hunting in a foot and a half of snow...

I requested a and b zone 1. They can't fix it. The tags are all drawn unfortunately 

Did you choose you would take any period ? If you didn't call dnr they will fix it.

So effing frustrated with this drawing system and getting a zone 1 period C. I didn't need to apply for a freaking c season. I can get it over the counter. Stupid broken system.
