The brown trout and steelhead are in the Milwaukee River right now (late February). I saw three steelhead landed by people who were float fishing. I caught two nice brown trout using a Mepps spinner.

Still fishing for trout in the tributaries, but a surprising visitor was in the river. The smallmouth were in. My brother caught some in a different spot than me, and I caught a few as well. Pike were also biting, even though it was a cold day.

The trout are still in the tributaries, but the bite was tougher this time. I walked up and down the riverbank for about five hours with my brother chucking all manner of spinners. We went 3 for 4 together. I landed a massive brown, but sadly didn't get a measurement on it.  I didn't see many other anglers landing fish and there were a lot of them.
