Does anyone go out and get their own grubs for ice fishing? I've used goldenrod grubs, but they're so small. What else do you use?

$20?  you can buy 1000 spikes for around $10.  That will last you all winter for sure unless you fish monona bay daily.

It's not really worth it when you can buy a winter supply of maggots for $20. but when I was a kid we would get a big wash tub and put about 4" of sand in the bottom . then after they started falling off the trees, cover that with several inches of acorns. after a frost, you would have a  bunch of grubs in the sand. I like spending the  $20 better, that other was a lot of work .

I have also used the grubs in black eyed susan stems, but I'm having a hard time finding them. Any suggestions?
