In the memory of my mother she was from the upper peninsula and did not know any better and thought she should be a Michigan Lions fan

Well, the division will be a lot tougher this year with Love established as the Packers QB and good supporting cast on offense! Who knows about the Bears, lots of talent but rookie QB!
Vikings will stink!

Well the Lions are Shelling out money. OG and wideout extended. Nothing in the works for Goff. Should be an easy ride again into the playoffs.

Think the Lions, just like the Pack, should’ve beat San Fran. However, doubt either team would beat KC. The Chiefs just got it going on !

Packers will kick their butt next year. Don’t care if it’s the Lions thread. 90% of the people on this thread are Packer fans.

Lots of reasons for that Lion loss yesterday and it includes the 49er's and Purdy making some great plays in the 2nd half.  Concerning the 4th down attempts the Lions/Campbell made more 4th down conversions than any other team in the NFL. I saw a stat they were 17 for 20 on 4th down/3yds or less to go (85% rate). Their FG kicker is a career 77% from 40-49 yds so even the analytics would have favored going for it. Reynolds also dropped that first attempt. Campbell and his aggressive approach is a big part of the team's success. As noted you are a hero when it works and criticized when you fail.

Don't think Detroit is going anywhere. Goff should have some more good years left and remember they have some outstanding young talent. Sewell, Hutchinson, St. Brown, Laporta, Gibbs are all studs..Appears that GM/Holmes really knows what he is doing in building a team.

This loss for Detroit is the same as the Packers when they lost in Seattle in 2014. Some people say the organization still hasn't recovered from that loss. You never know how they will be going forward.  I wouldn't be a bit surprised if they regress from here.

You can say what you want about Dan Campbell, but there’s no denying what he’s done for the team and the organization

Pretty good game Shanahan was the better coach looks like the packers still rule the roost. Only nfc north with 2 superbowl wins since 1985 bears victory. go packers go...

Yeah, Hound.
He looked at one really, really close.
Oh so close.
I love his ball sack calls.

2 drops by Reynolds. He was shown grinning about his first missed one, like it wasn’t his fault. Bullcrap. Not a perfect ball. Full catchable. Very important. Was given a second chance on another important one. And blew it.

Who’s he gonna get a chance to play for on a change of scenery next year? Or hold on to his development?

Bad tackling. You hit with force and wrap. Immediately.
Impose your will. That will was not administered in the second half.
Yards after contact was for the birds.
No hard statement drop & stops.

Strong drives of putting that SanFran d line on their back heels after driving 7 at a time and then going cute. Bullcrap. Step a guy down and stay on his neck until he can’t stop you. Make a true statement.

Don’t try to show off.

Grrrrrrrrrr.

Joe Barry / Matt Lafleur got blamed plenty for the soft and conservative defensive schemes for the Packers this year.  And last year.....  And deservedly so.

Very true FH. How many coaches get blamed for a loss cuz theyre too conservative.  Arm Chair hind sight is always 20/20.

Its been shown that if you dont play a risky game your players will lose confidence in themselves and in the coaching or just lose interest in playing.

His emotion and aggression are what got them to the championship game. It's great when it all works, or even works some of the time, but this time it didn't. They had lived by the sword, this time they died by it.

Run the ball up the middle for 8 yards. Run the ball up the middle for 14 yards. Then 7 yards, etc.

Then call a flea flicker? Incomplete. Behind the sticks. Pass again. Pass again, punt.

Wide open dropped passes late in the game. Giving up 6 points to go for it on 4th down.

Had the Lions simply stuck with the run they would have won easily.

It will be predicted the Lions will be back. They are young and going in the right direction. There is always the chance this was it, their chance. It’s hard to get back to the NFC Championship game. The Lions had a lot of things go right for them this year. I’m skeptical they will ever get this far again.
