I have the above fish finder and having issues with it. What happens is that it will work fine but once I hit 40ft of water I lose the depth and temp reading on the screen and the display becomes slightly broken up. As soon as I am back into like 30ft it all comes back. I have watched a number of videos and gone through many forums. I have reset the defaults and the depth settings is at auto. Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem.

I spent the better part of the last 10 days working with their Tech Support over a GPS issue I'm having. I won't save waypoints, it's a known hardware issue, but I'm told they won't even take a look until I download the latest software. Well, after several nights of screwing with the software, including a 2 hour download (done twice), my unit won't take the software update.
NOW they say, "Yeah, you need to send it in?" Ya think?????

Have you done all the updates they usually fix glitches like that or maybe check the transducer. I have same model just the g3 I just call humminbird and either its a update or they will walk you through to fix the problem. Most of my problems were updates or I activated or didn't activate a setting in the menu.
