Largest Channel Cat

What's the largest channel cat you've caught? My dad got a 25.8# over the weekend. Finally broke the 25# mark.

Those are some giant channel cats. Didn't even know they got that big. 12 to 15 pounds is a giant in my parts.

I have fished the Red river a bunch near Selkirk and it is ridiculous how many big channels there are there. 12-25 lb fish almost at will. I'm not sure if I've caught any 30's but I know some were real close. It might seem crazy to go to Canada to catch catfish but it is unbelievably good! It is not a meat trip, you can only keep fish UNDER 24" and they are rare but the number of big ones makes it worthwhile.

A 25+ channel cat is something very special. I live on the Red River so we do see them, some years more than others. My personal best is 34 followed by 32. My favorite photo that I can find quick is this 21 my 5 year old caught last fall.
