I'm planning an upcoming Canadian fishing trip for a group of friends. Sometime during July or August. We're looking to target muskies and walleyes. I'm looking for some insight from those with past experience on Cedar Lake or Cliff Lake. Any advice which lake we should spend a week on? Any information on either lake would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
With 2016 here it's time to start thinking about your next trip North. Catch a glimpse of why many have started their traditions at Cliff Lake Resorts!

Just a reminder to fisherman if your practising catch and release.not a good idea to catch fish at 30 ft+.its a death sentence to them.no need to fish that deep ever.there are fish that are a lot shallower on cliff as well as all other lakes.i took some folks out on cliff a week ago and most of our fish were in the 20 ft range.
The walleye fishing continues to be great along with plenty of Muskies being caught as well. Walleyes are deep (30' +) and the muskies are close by. Fall has arrived and so has some inclememt weather, but don't worry the fish in Cliff always bit.

Cast and Blast!!! Late summer, early fall is the time to be at Cliff Lake - fish are biting and some of the best bear hunting in NW Ontario. The new camp update has it all.

Check out Camp Update number #3 from Cliff Lake. Walleyes are everywhere this year with lots of nice eaters being caught along with the normal giants. Fish are starting to move deep and bunching up in their main lake spots should be a great late summer bite in NW Ontario.

June fishing has been good for most species on Cliff. Lots of bass in the 18'' range with more and more "eater" sized walleyes being caught. Since the Muskie opener last Saturday lots of BIG fish are be landed with two fish surpassing the 50'' mark - some real magnums!! Check out their first Camp Update of the season, some real nice walleyes being caught as well.

Another great video on Cliff. This one shows off the muskie fishing from 2014. Way less pressure on these fish then most other musky lakes in the region. Big fish + Action Cliff has it all. Less People = More Fish!

Who said Cliff Lake doesn't have walleyes? It has plenty of fish and some of the biggest in Ontario. Also, way less pressure then some other lakes in the area. Less people = more fish!!

I used to fish Cliff lake with my father in the late 60's and early 70's. At that time I recall two camps on the lake. cliff lake resort and a camp ground resort. Cliff lake resort was owned by Ed Booth. "claims to have been descendent of John wilkes Booth" next owner was a man and wife team. Rex and Ollie Williams.
Rex was unfortunately involved in and auto accident and was paralyzed from the waist down. The fishing on Cliff was great for all types of fish. Wish I new then what I know now about fishing. We would have murdered the fish.
It was always fun and a great way to spend a week with my dad.

The camp you are referring to is still open for business. It is called The Cliff Lake Outpost Camp. It is part of Cliff Lake Resorts which encompasses all three resorts on Cliff Lake. It is still very rustic and a great place for large groups and those looking for a fly-in feel with a drive-in price. All the old cabins are still standing and functioning. Really a great place that can take you back in time.
