Come on guys! Let’s see some excitement here. What’s everyone doing for the opener? I always enjoy hearing about traditions and stories.

This is my favorite weekend of the year to circle the wagons with people who don’t make it to the cabin often.

Yes it is, chambered in 7mm. Bought it 25 years ago at J Fuller in Stevens Point.

Great job homewrecker!! Very nice deer.

Quite a bit of shooting this morning in Oneida County. Lots of animal activity too. Buddy killed a small buck, and I’ve seen 3 does, a grouse and a fox. Another buddy had a wolf pass by him at 40 yards.

I hunt near the Mud Lake public grounds in Columbia county. I cannot believe they have the public range open during deer season! It is incredibly obnoxious to sit here and listen to clip after 30 round clip being emptied. It's virtually non-stop.

Gl to all! Sitting in a ground blind on public that me dad started sitting in late 70s. Sat my first hunt here in 94. Have deer moving all around me at the moment! Hope they are still here in an hr. Have went 0-3 this stand last few years with only one buck seen two years ago, but did go 6-4 the four years prior.

Well, it is just about time to shut down the PC and point the F150 north.  To the LL community:

Have a safe, enjoyable and memorable hunt.  Savor the moments with family and friends.  With the correct priorities, every hunt is successful!

And have a Happy Thanksgiving!

34 years now for me now.  Never missed one.  Started on private land with family.  Last 13 years has been just my wife and I on a small public piece.  Have not yet connected, but still go every year.  It is our time.  Traditions remain.  Had opportunities but couldn't make it happen.  All are correct that the "kill" is no longer what is important.  At our age we just enjoy going out together and trying.  Still bow hunt, duck hunt, turkey hunt, fish, asparagas hunt and mushroom hunt together every year.  Will until we no longer exist on this planet.  Enjoy the times together.  Be safe all!
