My camera has slowed down the last couple of weeks, I thought it was because acorns are dropping and there are no oaks in the area my camera is in.  It seems every year right around labor day the deer change their patterns after being pretty predictable all summer.

I've had the same experience as you guys. Most of the picks I get the deer are running or scratching.

Good to know - the only camera I had up is about 50 yards into some thick woods, but I have it set up on a pattern the deer use coming from the thickest part of the woods. I'm thinking they are either hunkered down or hanging out near some of the newly cut fields in the area. I put up another camera on a main trail to my field to see if they changed their patterns.

KV - i have a couple of cameras in the woods (only 150 yards off of field, but it's pretty wet) and all summer had bucks and does frequently using the travel corridors they are over. The past 2 weeks i haven't had anything.. 1-2 does maybe a week.. i'm thinking the bugs are to blame.. our field cameras are still taking about 300 pics a week.

Where are your cameras?  Deep in the woods?

Early this spring when it was wet and the mosquitoes and flies were bad, I had a bachelor group of 5 bucks (including the guy pictured) bedding out in the middle of a soy been field, right in the dirt (not planted at that point).  They would be out there all times of the day just laying in the dirt.  I could only assume it was due to how bad the bugs were.  I think they are worse now.  I wouldn't be surprised if the deer are hanging in the fields, and bedding there trying to get some relief from the bugs.  It has been dry now recently, but we desperately need a couple hard frosts.

That, and depending on where you are, actual flooding could have altered travel routes.
