Been in the woods in columbia county about 14 times.  I have not seen a single acorn this year.  Hunted by a corn field tonight and the squirrels were just going crazy in there dragging corn out.  Just curious if this was just this area or state wide.  One of my best spots last year was an oak woods in the middle of a large public marsh.  This year, no deer there during hunting or on camera.  Assume it is the acorn thing.

Hey Roofer, in reply to the last line of your comment,  sounds like my wife and oak trees have a lot in common.

We have a decent acorn crop (Dunn Co) but not a single piece of fruit on the 13 trees in our yard and little fruit in the woods.  It all comes down to that late frost and where your trees were at it when it happened.

We have several young oaks around the cabin in Price Co. and not one acorn, last year was small product. Year before was huge for output. Some oaks only put out every other year.

Marquette County-  I didn't see any acorns last time I was out that I remember anyway.  I'll double check this weekend to be sure.  Deer have been in our 10 acre clover/hay field a lot more than I ever remember them being there in the past.  Last year our woods were overflowing with acorns.

Multiple public spots in winnebago county that I hunt don't have any dropping, nor do I see them on the trees, weird year for sure. Usually it's that some spots have em and some don't, but not usually all of them.

My area is the same as the original post.  Not an acorn on the ground or in the trees.  Waushara County

I don't have any hickory nuts at home in Columbia County and normally my trees are full.  Not one this year.  No acorns on my oaks either.  My land in Juneau has very few acorns.  There are just a few small ones on the ground.

I haven't seen a fresh acorn all year.  Just a bunk year all over it seems for nuts.

Zero acorns at my home in Columbia county. Some years my driveway is covered from the big whites and reds in my yard. Not much at my land in Juneau county either. I've been staying off the big oak flat for now so not sure what's going on there yet, I suspect very little.

Watched this squirrel go back and forth to the neighbors corn field grabbing ears of corn and coming right past my treestand. I thought that was pretty funny! I told my son maybe he was trying to make me a bait pile lol.
