lakeshiner is right, the county (sauk)always had a list of people to call if the person who hit the deer did'nt want it. If you did'nt come when called, you were dropped. After three calls they always called my old man, who called me, and we went to retrieve. Plenty of meat for sausage. But that was twenty years ago, not sure now.

I agree. They should be put in jail. Free food there! It only cost 2 bucks for a tag to shoot deer. Cost more to drive around and violate. Prosecute the scum bags!

Well said.

I too think that alllll of those scumbags(see face) should be prosecuted by stiff law. Puke

Now if your a lowlife scum shining at night and shooting just to cut off the antlers or the thrill of the kill and leave it lay you should burn in hell.

You got that right Mike.

Same applies to guys who shoot a doe or fawn and leave it lay because they either (a) don't have a tag for it or (b) are too ashamed to show everybody that they shot a doe or fawn.

Heck, I shot a "pretty small" deer once. I tagged it, dragged it out and ate it (not all in one sitting).

It was "delicious".

I'd actually like to see people that carelessly waste game shot.

No, really.

I would.

If you need venison get a police scanner and pick up road kills. You can get a lot of meat that way and it's legal.

If they are that broke and they can't feed their families maybe they should get another job. McDonalds is always hiring. People are to lazy.

flyguy, your right public land is all our land so I will rephrase my first comment. Anyone killing a deer to feed his/her family on any land except private land, I have no problem with.Yahoos driving around with a 12 pack, spotlight and rifle should be punished. Can you honestly tell me that if your family or any family that is down on there luck and hungry and have deer running around there home and they kill one for food should be ticketed, arrested, gun confiscated and be humiliated for trying to put food on the table. You have a problem with that Speechless

fishingfool....It cant work both ways. Poaching is poaching...what if Im public and shoot a deer illegally that my family eats? Technically its our land....

I have both the IL and WI DNR Tip Line phone numbers saved as a contact on my cell phone which is always with me. Have used it and will continue to use it in Iowa County, WI. Have not run across a scenerio in IL yet, but I'm sure it will happen eventually! Sleepy

People that drive around, shine and shoot deer should be punished for sure. Someone that shoots a deer on there own land to feed there family, I have no problem with that.

Butchered a doe my son shot on saturday, and it was peppered with birdshot in one shoulder, neck, and tonight found some more under the hide on the head while skinning it for a skull mount. Scumbags!

Read thru the comments that ppl have posted about that article. Not really sure what to say about that. Apparently there are starving families all over the place that need to drive around and poach deer meat to survive. Give me a break. Crying Puke Puke
