"You can't hunt 3 days with it and give it a fair chance." When your group shoots 50 ducks with it, thats giving it a fair chance...

Our different styles of hunting probably contribute to our disagreement about the effectiveness of this load too. With a few exceptions, my duck hunting is divers on a substantial lake. We only shoot at ducks that are decoying/over the decoys or straight overhead....unless a wounded one is sailing off. That's just our blind rules. If a flock comes through outside the dekes and we cripple a few...chances are we aren't going to find them all if its rough out. They are too good of swimmers and to hard to find in the waves unless belly up. And it doesn't matter who you are or what load you shoot, divers at full speed at 40 yds is a recipe for crips. You may kill the one you shot at, but they fly so tight when they have no intention of landing, your bound to hit more than one. And everyone knows what happens when your out chasing crips....ducks pour through your decoys Wink Hunting timber or ponds, I guess I can see the desire for added pellets. I would also be more inclined to shoot 40 yds. The dog would find them, they cant really go anywhere.

Ok. You've changed my mind.......lol As said before I'm not saying its the best load for the money but the reduction of cripples inside 40yds is unmistakeable. The speed does suck. The main reason I like it is in flooded timber hunts for close range shots. I noticed a drop in cripples out of my birds shot when compaired to loads like Xpert or others cheap loads. Yes we may be talking about only 5-6 birds per year more however its worth it to me to spend a bit more for the chance to have less cripples and not use my 30$+ ammo. If you shoot enough birds you will see the difference I'm not trying to be a dick or compair numbers. Just what I've seen and had other friends in different states say also. You can't hunt 3 days with it and give it a fair chance. Your telling me you shoot the same accuracy every day?... I only know a few sniper friends who can do that. Not with a shotgun. Lol

My case is that the only difference in the ducks I killed with the Blindsided is that it cost me twice as much to do it. I saw no improvement in anything when using them compared to the cheaper 1 1/4 oz number 2's that I normally use. Are blindsides effective..? Yeah they will kill something, but I don't see a need to spend my money on them. Spend your money as you please and I will spend mine.

Usmc. I shoot a 3" 2oz #5 turkey load in my 12 ga. I also shoot a 3.5" 2oz #5 turkey load in my 10. SAME NUMBER OF PELLETS IN BOTH SHELLS. Blindside allows for shot to be stacked, so they can fit 1-3/8 oz of steel, let's say #2 in to a 3" shell. Federal and Kent both make a 3.5" shell with 1-3/8oz of #2. Guess what? THEY WILL HAVE HAVE THE SAME NUMBER OF PELLETS. LIKE I SAID BEFORE, SHAPE IS MEANINGINGLESS. 1-3/8 oz is 1-3/8 oz. Blindside simply allows for a SMALL typical 3.5" load to fit into a 3". You are sacrificing speed though. The 1-3/8 oz 3" load will be slower than the 1-3/8 oz 3.5" load.

The 3.5" has many more pellets then the 3"..(.maybe I am not understanding your comment) I'm well aware of hevi metals shape. However They are not 100% steel I don't use a 10ga so I don't have your numbers to use on my chart. If you honestly think blindside and hevi metal are basicly the same I guess I'm blind... Tell me what ammo I need to be shooting. Lol Black clouds performance is a good mix of blindside and hevi shot. Still not as good as hevi shot however. It seems most of the guys complaining about this ammo or others that cost more then 12$/box don't have much to hang there case on. Maybe there pissed at the price so they shoot it down.?? I know I don't enjoy spending that much on ammo but still do... Bottom line is you get what you pay for. Every ammo brand as something about it we all could say needs improvement. The importance of that "flaw" depends on the hunter.

USMC, the stacking simply allows a 1-3/8oz load in a 3" shell. The same number of round pellets would be in a 1-3/8oz 3.5" shell. 1-3/8oz is the same weather it is a square, a circle, a triangle or a nerd. HeavyMetal is not all the great and take a look at the hevishot, it's shaped like nerds as well.

A group of us used Blind Side on a 3 day hunt in Matagorda Bay TX last year. We were not all that impressed with it either. My personal favorite is Black Cloud. It just seems to have better killing power, or for some reason I shoot better when using it... No clue, just my .02 cents.....

It patterns just better then these cheap loads people want to buy. Round pellets will cut through the air better yes. But bargain ammo like the WW's favorite "xpert" is not round. Nerd shape at best. This ammo is the best cheaper ammo out. Kent would be the only cheap man load that's better. Spend the money and get a good ammo like hevi metal. Or hevi shot. Buy a good choke also will help a lot The stacking allows for more pellets which puts more rounds on target. Inside 40yds. You can't get a better patter for ammo that cost under 23$ Ugh I hate this site. I keep comen back. Lol

It may be stacked in the shell, but an 1 1/8 oz load is still 1 1/8 oz load. So it's square shot. Laws of physics say, square objects do not go thru the air as well as rounded objects. MH is correct... It's a "gimmick" shell. Just Say'in
