Drop Shot for Walleye

Drop shot works great for walleyes. Don't need a jig on the bottom; a regular sinker or a string of split shot clipped to the bottom works as well or better. With a drop shot rig you always know the food is just off the bottom and visible to cruising fish. If one bait is working already try a drop shot rig with that bait as a stealth presentation. A simple leech and hook can be a good choice. This "more is better mentality", AKA "bama" rig, is not always true. Simple is often better.
So if i drop shot with a jig and twister as my weight and ten inches up a drop shot hook and minnow why does that constitute two rods? With the new Alabama rigs where there are 4 or 5 individual lures why would that not be 4 rods then? Not sure why there is not a problem with the Alabama rig. mb
I drop shot for walleyes a lot. Generally use a 1/4 ounce jig and twister as my weight, and then a plain hook with a minnow 10" up from the jig. Nice to have 2 different presentations on at once. If they are just hitting the minnow, I'll use a regular drop shot weight instead of the jig.
