Rabbit Hunting

Hey, I was wondering if you have any tips for hunting rabbits, like how to most effectivly work brush piles with out a dog. Thanks

went out yesterday for a bit and seen 7 shot three with my boy. lots more sign than last year but the deep snow makes it tough for walking. f.d.l. county.

Thinking of trying Navarino tomorrow, need a break from ice fishing. Anyone seen any bunnies out there or am I wasting my time. Thanks in advance will report how I do if I go.

Hey guys, my name is John Utech. Me and a few of my buddies are getting a rabbit hunting tournament/benefit together for this coming January. It is called Hunting For A Cure and will involve a rabbit hunting tournament, brat fry/pig roast, silent auctions, bucket raffles,music and all sorts of other things. It will be a day long event held Saturday, January 19th, 2013 at Kim's 5 Corners in Sheboygan County. All the proceeds will go towards helping cancer patients and their families through their financial hardships while battling cancer. All the proceeds go to the Sheboygan County Cancer Care Fund which goes directly in helping cancer patients. There will be cash prizes for first 3 teams as well as other prizes to be apart of. You are bringing back old memories. Briars,vines,canes,weeds so thick you couldn't even fall down. Others on the outside complaining they couldn't get a shot because we were quick and accurate. Ever taken a head shot at 8 feet with a 16 ga.? Good Stuff.

Thanks for the tips, I didn't realize that they could be drove like deer, my buddies are football players so they better be able to do that.

Get a couple guys, hopefully young with long legs, and have them stomp on the brush piles while you and a buddy cover the escape routes. Just look for lots of tracks and rabbit turds and you will know which ones to hit. They can hole up pretty tight, so it may take some persistence to get them out of the big piles. It may not be safe for them to have a loaded gun while doing this, they probably won't get any shooting on top anyway. Then switch when you find the next good spot. You can also drive them without dogs from thickets, just like deer. Cover the escape paths to their holes.........Brings back lots of fond memories.................
