Northeast WI pheasant hunting

Hello everyone,

I am trying to find some spots closer to pheasant hunt this year and with the opener a month away I would like to scout some areas. I have heard about the Deppe Wildlife area and was wondering if anyone has hunted there. Also is there any other public lands that you know of that are worthwhile. I know where the public hunting lands are it is just a matter of whether they would be worth it to try out. I am not asking for your specific spot just general advice would help. Don't know much about the pheasant in the northeast. We grouse hunt all over up there but I've only seen a handful of pheasants and thats usually following a controlled release for the youth hunts.

Have you tried grouse hunting? Gonna be a good season this year.
