Leaves on the trees

Going north woodcock and grouse hunting next weekend, was wondering if many leaves have fallen yet. Don't know exactly where we're headed. Probably the Dunbar area north of GB or over near Ladysmith.

I was in Lincoln county on 10.4 and and most of the young popple were 90% free of leaves by the end of the day... The hardwoods were still holding there leaves.

How bad are the ticks this year?

I was up in Oneida county over the weekend and colors were probably at their peak, but the aspens were still full and THICK. I would guess that the leaves should be starting to drop pretty quick now though. By this weekend I am guessing you will have some leaves down, but I think it is still going to be pretty heavy foilage.

been out the last several days and and once the weekend of the 22nd....been hitting the 3 year old clear cut areas for timberdoodles and grouse...seein birds! and missin more than a few....Still a fair amount of leaves on the trees but I think the next few days of wind will put a dent in that....huntin around home in the wausau area.....

I'm headed up on the 9th to hunt for 6 days. Can't wait. Hope to have it timed with the leaf drop.
