A gobbler call will work but I would suggest starting with a lonely hen slate call or box call. A tom would much rather come into a hen to breed with than come in for a fight. Especially if it's a younger tom and not the main "boss" tom in the area.
I think best scenario for a gobble call is if you have a tom out in a field and he is either henned up or will not come in any farther. Sometimes that gobble sound might sound like one wants to pick a fight. Just depends on his mood. Turkey calling is much like calling elk. Same way. Some times bugles will work but still would recommend a lonely cow call.
I have one and do use it. It is not my first choice for calls to use but it has worked. It has called in a jake for me once and has called in a few hens. One hen had a tom following her. His tailfeathers are hanging on my wall. Its always in my bag and do like to have it as another option. good luck.
