Artificial lure means a spoon, spinner, plug or other fish bait made of hair, feathers, cork, wood, rubber, metal, plastic or other synthetic materials, or combinations of these materials. An “artificial lure” may not include natural or organic food stuffs such as corn, marshmallows, dough, cheese, meat, living or dead organisms or parts thereof, except hair, feathers, cork, wood and rubber. i got this from the dnr 2013 trout regs, so, no pork isnt legal.

Anybody know if pork rinds for bass are legal for the early season?

Well its not the opener but I caught these this weekend. My favorite lure for trout are Panther Martin spinners.

I almost always have a #9 (3/8 oz) Panther Martin on. I like all gold, all silver, or the yellow body with red dots. I like the lure to drop down deep. The bigger spinners give off more vibration and honestly the small trout pound it just as much as s smaller ones. Heck I've even caught 12" brook trout on a #15 (1/2) oz Panther Martin. Spinners are my go to lure >95% of the time. Looking forward to the opener! Good luck to everyone. Smile

I will be out there for the opener, been a long wait. Most likely a 1/8 rooster tail or #4 panther martin silver or gold.

Don't know if i will be out on the opener, but my first day off after I will be. Most likely a Mepps #1 silver, plain treble, but i will be very tempted to try out my new rapala ultralight minnow, silver.
