Artificial lure means a spoon, spinner, plug or other fish bait
made of hair, feathers, cork, wood, rubber, metal, plastic or
other synthetic materials, or combinations of these materials.
An “artificial lure” may not include natural or organic food stuffs
such as corn, marshmallows, dough, cheese, meat, living or
dead organisms or parts thereof, except hair, feathers, cork,
wood and rubber.
i got this from the dnr 2013 trout regs, so, no pork isnt legal.
marabou jigs of course. been tying alot of them to get ready, caught alot of big fish on them the past few years. also seen alot of varities that i cant wait to try out. gonna have to wait to go cause working 12hr 6days aweek now. of course for the opener. had big plans to try crawford and vernon counties for the first time too. it'll have to wait so save me a few large browns please. good luck and hope to hear alot of good reports.
I almost always have a #9 (3/8 oz) Panther Martin on. I like all gold, all silver, or the yellow body with red dots. I like the lure to drop down deep. The bigger spinners give off more vibration and honestly the small trout pound it just as much as s smaller ones. Heck I've even caught 12" brook trout on a #15 (1/2) oz Panther Martin. Spinners are my go to lure >95% of the time.
Looking forward to the opener! Good luck to everyone.
