Bluegill Ice Fishing Tournament- Monona Bay

We will be hosting an Ice Fishing Tournament in Madison, WI on December 31. It will be held on Monona Bay at Brittingham Park by W Brittingham Place & Proudfit St. All profits go to the UW- Platteville Bass Fishing Club. The money helps us pay for tournament fees, travel to tournaments and hotels. We fish in the FLW College Tournament Series and the BASS College Tournaments as well. We also have boat maintenance costs.

Registration from 6:00- 6:45 AM, meeting at 6:45 and fishing from 7:00 am- Noon. Weigh in at Noon.

$10 to enter, kids 12 & under are free. Prizes include HT 2 Person InstaShack shanty, HT tip ups, HT Kneeling Pads, panfish jigs, walleye jigs, Berkley Gulp!, Linder's Angling Edge DVD's and more!

The 10 bluegills with the longest combined length wins. Bonus Crappie: the single longest crappie wins a bonus prize. We will have raffles and door prizes also.

Rules: 1. Winners will be determined by the combined length of 10 bluegills. The contestant with the single longest crappie wins a bonus prize. Cost to compete is $10. Kids 12 & under fish free. 2. Bluegills and sunfish must measure at least 6” to be measured. Fish shorter than 6” will result in a disqualification. Bonus Crappie must measure at least 8”. 3. Tiebreak- In the case of a tiebreak, the single longest bluegill will determine the winner. If there is still a tie, the second longest fish will determine the winner and so on. 4. Culling- You are entitled to keep your limit of 25 panfish per day. You may only measure in 10 bluegills and 1 crappie. Once you have your limit of 25 panfish you cannot cull. All other fishing regulations apply. 5. Boundaries- You may only fish west of John Nolan Drive. This area includes the North Triangle, South Triangle and Monona Bay. 6. Late Penalty- Late fish will not be measured. Registration begins at 6:00 AM, meeting at 6:45 and fishing starts at 7:00. Weigh in is at Noon sharp! No pre- registration. 7. By registering for a tournament, entrants acknowledge the risks involved and agree not to hold the UW- Platteville Bass Club liable for any accidents or wrongdoing. 8. This tournament is limited to the first 100 people. 9. This is a catch and kill tournament, fish will not be released. 10. Rain date- In the event of inclement weather or unsafe ice conditions, the tournament will be postponed to a later date. The tournament is postponed to Sunday January 15.  All rules, times and locations will remain the same.
