reconyx trail cams.

I took back my Moultrie m80 in exchange. The reason is cause the batteries went dead after 10 pics or so when it was cold. When the batteries on the moultrie get down to 20 degrees the batteries die real quick. So I took it back and got a Reconyx. Does anyone own a Reconyx trail cam? What do you think of it? Are they worth the price?

I have a reconyx hyperfire, it's 1 y/o. I use lithium batteries. I had it on bear baits this summer and in aug. I changed the batteries when they were at about 20%. It had taken probably 10-15 thousand phots. I just pulled the camera the other day and was suprised to see the batteries were at 89% after being out in sub zero weather as cold as -24. now the camera wasn't on bait so it wasn't taken thousands of photos. I'm impressed w/ the battery life.
I put lithium batteries in the Reconyx. It took 14 pics and the batteries are at 57%. I bring in the camera in the house and it sais 19%. Has anyone had the same problem I did call Reconyx and they said the meter has a hard time reading the battery life when it's cold. I'm asking cause I wonder if I am the lucky guy who gets to say I'm the one in a thousand that got a bad Reconyx. I have more problems with trail cams than anyone on earth!
I am on the 2nd set of duracells since August. The first set was still at 25 percent when I changed them out and that was after about 12,000 pics. The only reason I changed them was because the night pics started getting dark and more grainy. The batteries the camera is currently running on have been in there since the end of November and they have taken probably 5000 pics or so and last time I checked (about a week ago) they were at 45 percent. The coldest it has been so far is about -12.
I purchased a Reconyx back in August of this year and it's still in the woods. Thousands of pictures on one set of AA batteries. The daytime pics are amazing but the night pics are a little grainy but not bad. The camera will not miss a thing either. I have pics of bugs, flying squirrels, birds and many other small critters. Out of 10,000 pics you might get a couple blanks. I will never purchase another brand, and I have tried bushnells, wildviews, cuddes, moultries, and a stealth cam. The first time I set the Reconyx up I knew it was in a different class of quality. The mounting strap is easy to use, the settings and buttons are nice and crisp, the case is more durable, and the latch is by far the best design. I have the HC 500. Attached is a couple pics.
