I want to ship a 7'6" rod to a friend. Any suggestions how to do this safely and sensibly? I do not have a shipping tube yet. Thanks.

Make sure that it is amply insured. Rod building forums are full of horror stories about shipping conveyers eating rod tubes.

Vac-system tubing used for central vacuum home systems is the PVC you're looking for. My mail order rod blanks get shipped in them.

Living in ak my friends have to ship rods all the time. Get a cheap piece of pvc. glue one end on thread cap on other wrap rod in bubble rap no problems.
