Pairing up Rods & Reels

Is there any real downside to putting a smaller reel on a rod with a bit of a heavier action? I have 2 cheapo Rhino spincast combos that I keep at the cabin for bobber fishing, and the reels are tremendous pieces of crap. I've been researching inexpensive reels to put on them, and I've drawn the conclusion that I want to get 2 Shakespeare Synergy Titanium Spincast Reels to throw on the rods. Will there be a problem with doing this? Any other inexpensive recommendations? Link to reel Link to rod/combo

Pflueger make a nice spincast(push button)rod reel combo. I believe its called the CETINA,also Daiwa make one but i dont recall the combo's name.

Bobber fishing, go for it what are you out? $15.00 wow.

I'm just looking for an inexpensive push button reel that doesn't suck. These aren't for active fishing, just hanging a crawler or a minnow under a bobber from our pier to get an extra line in the water. I've seen some cheap Zebcos that have gotten pretty good reviews. Regardless, my eye is on the $15 Shakespeare I linked.

It would be a solid improvement to get away from any Rhino product. You can't go wrong on this one, unless you get a push button zebco or something similar.
