Humminbird SI Enhance Sharpness Features- Ultimate Fish Hunting!
4/7/12 @ 11:19 AM
Humminbird has an Exclusive feature that is called SI Enhance that helps you locate and spot fish easier. Here are a series of images that show the differences in 3 of the levels and how SI Enhance can help the "Fish" jump out at you. This is the most awesome tool for "Fish Hunting" versus "Structure Hunting". Increasing the SI Enhance Sharpness level back shadows the Strong Returns aka Fish and makes them easier to see. This back shadowing will increase the graininess of the structure but you use this feature to make fish easier to see...so you sacrifice image crispness for the ease of finding fish. There are 4 levels of Sharpness: OFF, Low, Med, High.
Now for 2012 Humminbird with the latest software has added Down Imaging Enhance Sharpness Feature too to make "Fish Hunting" easier in Down Imaging.

Need help. I have a hard time picking fish out when they are out to the sides above hard bottom if that makes sense. I can see them when they are under the boat in the water column, but up against the river bank and hard bottom I think I am getting a lot of white returns that are just hard bottom/rocks? I run chart speed around 2 and boat around 2.5-3mph. sensitivity around 10 and have experimented with sharpness. I have a 997 and water depth is 12ft or less. Any suggestions?
Thanks

no... didn't find the fish... looks like the shadow of the forked stick in the deeper part is darker, but otherwise not seeing the fish
it may be my eyes or the fact that I'm viewing on a laptop, but have put the pics side by side???
I have 898csi, so would like to know how to use this feature... what am I missing?
