Has anyone bought the EGO net yet? I bought one and it is fantastic! They make many, many different models. The one I have used is the Slider2 reach model that starts out at 48" and extends to 108", great for trolling and getting to the back of your boat. Check them out on the web!

Not sure how you do not mention the product name when you are talking about a particular product and the company who makes it? I prefer buying and upgrading my fishing items as new product comes out, I guess it is a sickness, but it keeps me working! I just saw that Ego released it's new nets this month. They upgraded and made things even better then what they had. Advertised as 2X stronger then the net that was on the market. Yes, I did get a new one...............told you it must be a sickness! Tournament season starts at the end of the month, I hope by having a stronger net I will catch bigger fish!.......(right)

Hookin' eyes: Some people might take your posts as spam, what with the constant product name drops. When I was a kid, we fount this cheap net in someone's trash. We (my brothers & I) used it for about 15 years collectively. It's probably still buried in my family's storage unit somewhere. Any net is better than not having one at all.

Anybody ever sweep, rake or paint with a screw in handle? Ever had that handle unscrew itself over time? I can see hearing a report from someone about the net falling off the handle while they are trying to land a fish. I prefer to follow the K.I.S.S. (Keep it Simple Stupid) motto.

I need a landing net for a large pike/musky trip, but I just can't see spending $100.00 or more on a net. Even $75.00 is too much to spend on a net. When every fish could be worth thousands of dollars that $100+ Beckman doesn't look so expensive.

I'm sure in most cases the customer got a new net over the counter but that doesn't change the fact that there are so many of them being returned broken. It's a cool design but it appears that it has a weakness in it somewhere.

I haven't heard of any problems with them. They have a two year warranty on them, so maybe if you saw some in back rooms, that would mean the customer got a new one? I don't know what kind of warranties are on other nets but maybe other nets are not returned to stores because of poor warranty? Just curious on that one.

I've seen enough of them broken in the back rooms of stores to be rather leary of them. A good net is well worth it IMHO. I have Stowmansters and really like them.

My Ego Slider2 net is holding up well from trolling to jig fishing. We have netted a lot of fish so far this year already with no misses and no problems with the net! I would like to hear from everyone who has bought and used one of these nets. I have shown this net to so many people that just love it wherever I went fishing this year. I start my tournament season on April 18th and can't wait to hear the comments I get on the net. I get excited with new equipment and can't wait to share it with new people. Have a great season!

I use a frabill hyber net for crappie, it can handle bigger fish. Net stores in handle and easily stores in a rod locker!

Timmothy Save up to get a good net, it is not worth buying a cheap one. The day when a trophy fish is on the line you will be glad you bought a good one! Tell your loved ones what you want, Christmas, birthday, fathers day, it might work. I had to save a bit to get my Ego net but it paid for itself in a big hurry. I fish walleyes, so the extra reach to get them when trolling, before the soft mouth rips and they get off, was really nice.

Timothy, good luck even finding a halfway decent large pike/Musky net for less than that...

Everyone has their old favorite net and that is fine. I am just saying when the old dies check out the Ego Net. I fish a lot of tournaments and have had a extendable from another company just fold over right in my hand as we landed a two pound fish. Not a large fish by any means for a net to fail. As the other post have commented, I fell in love with it when I tried it in the store and I bought it and have been using it ever since with no problems. I still love it! Just saying............
