Boattech, When I was on the Okuma website I must have been looking at a different rod. You are right about the limited lifetime on the Reflexions rod. However, I did read their warranty section and it doesn't say anything about being able to take it to a dealer for a no questions asked replacement. Maybe you just have a sweet dealer.
Fenwick HMX and St. Croix Triumph are good rods. I own both. Both are reasonably priced at 65-80 bucks at most places. What are you looking to target?
if you want a custom rod made for you buzz is the man fixed up a few of my rods this year and they look like brand new he does great work, if you want a rod from the store you cant go wrong with the fenwick elite tech rods. best eye jigging rod i have had in a long time, way better than the st. croix eyecon i now use as a back up. when funds are available going to have buzz at b@b make a custom for me.
Boattech, I'm not sure where you are getting your information on Okuma rods but the Reflexions rods only have a 1 yr limited warranty and if you read their complete warranty statement there is nothing about free replacement at dealer locations. In fact, it says you have to send the rod to them with a check to cover the shipping back of $20 and they will determine if it was broken because of defect or something else. They won't cover it if they determine that the rod wasn't defective.
rmba,
Send me a PM if you are interested in a custom fishing rod with those lure ratings. Our prices are very competitive. We build all of our grips from individual cork rings and then turn the grips on the late so the rod is set up to fit you the way you want it. I can get any blank that is made in the USA and many that are made overseas.
Hope you find what you are looking for and good fishing.

Look into the Okuma Reflections series or dead eye series. Better lifetime warranty at a cheaper price. You break a rod you can take it to any dealer and walk out with a new rod instead of sending it back to Park Falls and then waiting for it in the mail. Reflections are around 65 a rod.
