Kennel Covers

During the fall I transport my dogs in the bed of my truck in the plastic Remington dog kennels. Once it gets cool out I bring them in the cab and put blankets down for them to ride on.

My question is does anyone use those insulated kennel covers? I tried to find ones to fit the Remington dog kennel, but they are either to small or loose fitting.

The reason I am asking is I DONT want a cap on my pickup.

Thanks

All I use now is MudRiver covers. They are the best. Ive tried a lot of other ones and they just dont offer what the MudRiver ones do. Lots of places to store stuff and can be made to fit your weather. Hot or Cold.

Get a topper - okay, just kidding Another vote for mud river. Was in South Dakota this past fall and we had 4 dogs in the back of the truck with a cap. My buddy had to take his labs and bring them up front because they were cold (-15 outside). I checked my shorthair and nice and toasty warm. Worth the extra $.

I also have a Mudriver cover. I use an old furniture pad in the bottom of the kennel for protection from the cold bed. Works great and has been through alot of weather.Mine is 5 yrs old and other than the pull on the zippers its fine.Sub-zero and an hour drive I open it up an steam comes out.Waterproof spray every spring.

Here is what I posted on another forum about the Mud Cover.....

I Second that. Late season of MN duck there was a couple of mornings it was bitter cold out (10-15 degrees). I have a 30 min drive from the landing to the house. Truck packed with hunters so dog rides in back. Dog gets out soaking wet, throw him in the kennel and zipper shut the cover (leaving about 2” open for ventilation). I would have my buddies come and stick their hand in kennel right after I open it up when we got back home. Nice and toasty. The Mud River cover is worth the extra $$$.

The Mud River brands from Lion Country are very nice and well insulated. With a little hay/straw you will be fine. Lion Country - Mud River Kennel Cover
