SO, the more I read about theses dogs the more I like them. Does anyone here have any first hand experience with them, or know of anyone who has them? Thanks in advance.

"...I hemmed and hawed too long to get in on that litter." I believe Lumpy is going to repeat the breeding this coming spring/summer.

I have been doing a little research on these dogs. I am very impressed by this breed. Guess it should not come at any surprise to some degree. Since they do share some of the same history of all the dogs in my kennel. It is impressive how this breed has been breed through the years for the sole purpose of blood tracking. Proper breeding and selection has really brought this out. I talked to Lumpy about this breed. He said it in a way that really sticks out to me. These dogs are the dragsters of blood tracking. You can line up any car on that 1/4 mile track. But nothing is going to beat that dragster! Makes perfect sense to me! If a dog for the purpose of blood tracking is your goal. Then there is no doubt in my mind at this point. This is the dog to have. just keep in mind. You still have to put the time in to training to bring out the best in that dog!

Awesome! I hemmed and hawed too long to get in on that litter. That'll teach me. I'm still looking for a female pup, even if it means waiting a year or two or traveling a state..or two or four!

Autumn (dam of recent litter & Muckdogs pup) recent track...deer was hit high, got top of one lung and just a little bit of liver. Shot with a 37# bow. Track was 9 hours old. Deer went 250 yards with a little blood, then stopped and took a 90 degree turn and went another 100 yards with no visible blood. Would have looked a long time without the use of the dog. The deer weighed 190# and has a 20” inside spread.

Thank you! I'm looking for one for the same reasons. Thought about the bloodhound too, just too sloppy!

Jeff Lemmenes (Lumpy's kennels) has a female and a litter on the ground... I'm picking up a female Thursday. They are a European breed bred specifically for trailing wounded game. Medium sized dog with extremely cold nose... My vet has the sire to this litter.. Extremely friendly dogs as well. I wanted a breed for tracking wounded deer with a nose comparable to a bloodhound but didn't want a 130 lb dog dragging me through thorns and briars that I can hardly crawl through and this breed fits the bill!! They are rare...only a couple hundred in the states... Sean Timmens from Spring Valley kennels near Madison also has a male..
