flambeau river catfish

anyone know any good catfish spots on the flambeau river north or south?

Actually it was my first time up there and I went to a place a buddy told me about. We fished right from shore and the guy next to us was absolutely hammering them but he was using a some type of snagless sinker which seem to help alot.

Tpierce12.... Were you floating that section of river or targeting known spots?

I agree...The average size is pretty big over there.. The best luck I have had is to float a section of river and look for the deeper holes. Got some nice wallleyes on crawlers last time too.

just got back from a trip from the flambeau near the tony area and man are the channel cats up there BIG! We didn't catch alot by any means but we caught 5 in two days and missed another 5-6 hits but out of the five we caught the smallest one was 13 pounds and the biggest was 19. The only bad part was we had alot of hits on crawlers but we caught at least 75 smallmouth so we switched to sucker minnows.

Most are big, like 8-10 lbs. Seems like a sub species of channel cat up there. Very black fish.

all the ones i catch on flambeau are bigger i like never catch small ones.

You can catch a cat anywhere on the south or north. It is very spotty though. It isn't a cat hatchery by any means.
