selwyn lake ignace

Anyone been there since the new owners bought the Resort. Hows the fishing and the cabins. Been looking at it for maybe a fall trip. What's your thoughts on the lake. THANKS

KOZZY2 did you get back from Selwyn yet? Would like to know how you did fishing and where you fished on the lake if you care to share your spots.

Asked the owner when i booked a cabin and they can't get one anywhere. I looked on map quest and got a satellite photo of the lake but no water depths. Wood like to get one also going in September.

When you said 9 mile and 11 mile is that in the lake or in the small part of the english river.

I've never fished in Aug or Sept. Some spots I would try - just downstream from trestle for large fish, below the falls/rapids coming down from Upper Selwyn....otherwise we fish down river. Hole at mile 9 by the island in the deep section of the river, mile 11 has a nice hole - between the lakes, a couple of the bends in the river - kind of hard to explain without a map.

If you fished it before maybe you can tell us where to fish it in Sept. Where are the hot spots. Thanks

the people that own Selwyn now own Raven and Sowden also. Go to Raven Lake Lodge Ontario for there web site. Hope it helps.

Is this the outfit that was previously run by Larry Hansen? If so - please add contact info for new owners. We've fished this for years, only to learn recently it's no longer owned by Hansen and I'm desparately looking for info on new owner. Thanks

Selwyn Lake is on 17 just before Raven Lake on your way to Ignace from thunder bay. The owner of Raven also owns a resort at Sowden Lake off of 17. All before 599 hwy.

smokercraft, I've been fishing around Ignace for a lot of years, and by no means do i know all the lakes, help me out where is Selwyn located can you give me some reference points. Off 599 or along 11/17. Thanks GF
