kidfishing - when are you going? We went in the end of June and had greataction where the river comes in on the north end of the lake and in red pine bay where the creek comes in a creates a circular current right at the mouth of that stream. We had monster northerns hit walleyes on the way to the boat - my kids screamed so loud the Eagles flew away - kids and fishing!

Anyone ever catch any crappies or perch in this lake. Want to take to kids for an afternoon of non stop action during our next trip.

Just got back from a week on Minnitaki. Walleye fishing was good. Used mostly leeches. Also caught many Walleye while fishing for Northern. Hard time finding a lot of northerns this year. Ones we caught were either 26"+ (including slots) or smaller than 24". Didn't see many 24-25" northerns. Fished pickeral arm, Neewapa Island area, Lyons Bay, Troutfish bay for notherns. Anyone have any other suggestions for northerns. We stay in the arm.

Good place for lakers is Lyons Bay. We even fished from shore soaking herring or smelt off one of the points at the entrance or Lyons to the main lake. We even caught some monster northerns doing this.

Heading up early August. Anyone try for lake trout here? looking for a few spots to give it a try. I do have down riggers if needed.

What is the bait or lure of choice for Walleyes? We generally use jig leech combo.

What is lure of choice for Northerns? Different colored spoons for us. 5 of diamonds most popular.

Like I posted earlier we are out of Timber Edge Camps. I've been going up there for around 8 years.

I went out of pickeral arms for 4 years and did pretty well down by moonlight falls and east towards "the narrows". PM me if your going out of pickeral arms. alot of hazards when trying to get to the main lake from camp. watch yourself around the islands.

I go up every year to Timber Edge. Owners used to be neighbors before they moved up there. Camp is in Butterfly and have to go through the channel to get to Minnetaki.

Where are you staying? I've been there 5-6 times back in the 80's and early 90's. Always did well in Twin Bays first 2 weeks of June. Also had good success in Troutfish Bay. Trolling crawler harnesses and tossing crankbaits worked best. Soaking smelt for northerns was fun too.
