Anyone ever fish off of Graham road? It runs north of Upsala about 100 miles. I have fished Brightsands, Sparkling, Arrow, Empire, Alley, ect.. with some luck. Anyone else ever go up there? Was thinking of trying to get into Wapikimaski this year.

Are you wanting to get into Metionga from the Brightsand? If so, you would probably put in right at the road at Sparkling. If you just want to fish the river, there are a few landings off Graham Road after Pakashkan. They put very large boats in at these landings. However it will be quite difficult to get into Metionga from this way. There are some good waterfalls heading in from the Pakashkan side.

I have flown into Metionga, which is just upstream from Brightsands. I am interested in knowing how it was getting into Brightsands from the Graham Road. Portage wise, would a small 14 footer make it in?, etc. If you would like, you can PM me, and we can discuss spots to fish on Metionga too. Thanks.

Has anyone been on the Graham Road recently? I'm wondering about road conditions. I'll be going as far as Sparkling Lake. Any info would be appreciated. Thank you.

We tried the shoreline straight across from the landing. There is a little curve in the shoreline and we fished that from "point" to "point" relatively close to shore and did not have a bite. The eyes we did catch were really skinny. Is this normal for this lake? The few we kept had white ribbon like stuff coming out of the anus. My buddy said they were tape worms. I don't know about that, but they were real skinny compared to other eyes from other lakes. Also found a dead whitefish floating on the surface. Is there a whitefish population in South Alley or did a bird or something drop it off? We have found as much as 35 fow, does it get much deeper? I would think the eyes to be fat with that much water and a whitefish population. Also appears to get fished quite heavily. Again would think they are not over populated and should be a little fatter fish. Just my .02

Did not make it to S. Alley on our second trip last year. Stayed mostly on Alley last August. Ended up with a large group and was more difficult to jump lakes. Could be blind, also did not bring my electronics, but did not find the weeds out in front of the landing. The fish we did catch a month ago were in a bay in 10 feet of water. We actually saw some before we started to fish them. Fished from 9am to 7pm as we were camped up the road by Brightsand.

Fished South Ally two days. Caught some eyes in the rain first day and fished Pike the second. No real monsters, biggest was mid 30"s Drove to Weaver one day. There is a foot and a half of water over the road. Group from Minnesota camped at landing. They were out fishing so I did not speak to them. Lots of bear around.

Heading up in early June. Staying at Ally and going to try South Ally again for a day. Last year we caught one eye and a few small pike. Saw some big pike following schools of suckers around. Hopefully we will have better luck this trip. Not sure what other lakes we will try. Maybe go to Weaver?

Just came from Pakashkan, the eyes were in the weeds feeding in the morning & evening (5' to 6') then moving off to the edges (12' to 16') late morning. With all this warm weather and water temps up fishing was good but not what it should be. Talked to some guys from Minn they were able to pull up a couple 5' & 6' pounders in the evening on one of there holes.

I was also up last week with a group of 6 people. Water temps started out 64F (warm water) and ended the week at 61F. Biggest walleye was 25-inch. Biggest northern was 32-inch (did not catch many northern, even casted for them). Cloudy and windy all last week.
