Sounds like you are getting your life straightened around Patti. It also sounds like it was the correct time to put Guy in the home. It is a tough decision but we all know it is probably going to happen sooner or later.
Talked to my oldest a little bit ago. He and his wife are expecting a little one late spring next year. They are hoping for a little boy as they already have two girls. Mom and Dad both are in their 40s so I had to warn them to take care of themselves.
Got a clean bill of health on the rotor rooter last week. Doc says I can come back for my 80th birthday. Told him he has to catch me first.
That time of the year when I seem to run out of energy. Just don't ever seem to have any pep this time of the year. Probably just doing to many things the rest of the year, just need a rest.
well,,i figured i would post here again..hope everyone is doing ok
i have been busy cleaning out my house..i finally did it..i have sold just about evertything that guy owns..the boat,,the truck,,all fishing stuff, all hunting stuff...figured he will never be able to use it again...hes doing ok in the home..there are days that he dont know me,,,trying to get used to that...its hard to deal with ,
thank goodness for the trading post..have met alot of nice people on here..
im down to 4 fishing poles to sell,,,and 3 boxes of lures...and a couple of little things...
getting my house cleaned and ready to put on market,,which will be in about a month or so..cleaning out the basement was the worse...took a total of 7 truckloads to the dump,,just from the basement...still have some tools left,,maybe give those to my son later on.
I know how you feel about the house Patti. We go upstairs in ours about once or twice a week. Would hate to give up my garden though, although sometimes I think it is a little too big. I quit dead heading the flowers so the birds could pick off the seeds during the winter months. They usually end up transplanting them other places around the yard.
Tomorrow I have to go in and get a colonoscopy. I have been putting it off for years but the doc says I should really get one. So today I am on a liquid diet until 3 then I have to start with the cleaner outer.
happy belated birthday bob..glad you and judy are doing ok..sorry to hear she has a urinary tract infection..hope she gets better soon.
been fishing alot lately,,perch have been awesome...been limiting out almost every time...catching 9-11 inches..not bad when you go out for 2 hours and catch your limit.
also been cleaning out the house..almost done selling all the stuff..pretty soon i can get the house ready and put it on market to sell..then start looking for a place to live.
its kinda scary thinking about having to do that...but i dont need a 3 bedroom house just for me
Time to get this back on track again.
Yesterday was a tough day for me. I turned the BIG 70. Now that really made me feel old. Been trying to recover today. My 2 grandaughters in Alaska called last night to sing happy birthday. One is 3 and the other is 6. They both had their own renditions and although I could not see them my dil told me they had costumes and the oldest one had a drum to play. We are planning a little party on Saturday.
I had to take Judy in to the doctor's office yesterday because I thought she might have a urinary tract infection. I was correct.
A couple of us got out fishing Tuesday. We decided to try a couple small lakes we hadn't been on in a long time. There was a long distance between the boat ramps and the lakes and I didn't think my van would be able to get the boat out of the water. We ended up going elsewhere. I am afraid we are going to have some fishkills in those little lakes this winter unless we get a rainy fall.
Just brought Judy in for her quarterly doctor appointment today. Doctor was impressed with how she is doing and commended me again.
I got my physical today also.
Doc has finally convinced me to go through the roto rooter routine. Her office was going to make the appointment for me.
Seems I have lost some of the feeling in my toes. I forget what she called it. When things get back to normal again and if the toes don't get better they will make an appointment with a foot doctor for me.
Rob is heading back to Alaska doing. We had a nice party Saturday and Judy's sister took the ferry over from Michigan. Next week her brother is planning on coming from Ohio. Judy seemed to know everybody and had a lot of energy.
glad to hear your boys are home for awhile bob,,hope you and judy are doing well.
i have been so busy at work with EAA(oshkosh air show)..forgot what it was like to work this hard..its been a year since i put in a full 40 hour week....feels good,,but my body is having problems with it....found out yesterday, that i sprained my knee again..the same one that i sprained last september..OUCH!!! it really hurts...glad i still have the knee brace from last time..little hard to walk..but im getting around..
other than that,,everything is about the same here..guy is doing ok at the home..hes actually put on some weight..about 7 pounds...but hes not walking around like he used to..he just lays in bed most of the day..or sit in the recliner.
Hi Gang. How is everyone? Nothing really new down my way with the exception of a slight break in the heat. I guess though we are supposed to warm up again down my way next week. Wow what a summer this year. I suppose those of you that have crops are really suffering this year with all this heat and no rain. My pool team is doing quite well and we are in 1st place for the summer session with a chance to go to Vegas in September if we win the finals. I'm really looking forward to that. I really would like to go fishing sometime, but the heat and humidity has really taken a toll on me. Man I can remember when I was younger that I would go fishing regardless of how hot or humid or cold or snow or rainy it was. Now I just say "FORGET IT"!!! There is always another day. Well that's that. Oh yes Patti I'll try and call you over the weekend to touch base with you. Okay God Bless to you all.
Back to read the 'Mash' report-- 3rd year of no fishing for me--equipment sitting against a wall, as most that inquired about my stuff bought without the normal 'garagesalementality' I know that’s not a word but when you’re selling something that’s 50-60 bucks at Fleet and I want 20-25 for it, the idea that I am in the mood for a 'offer' is ludicrous! Soooo will wait till next year and then if no sell I will have a big bond fire as I won’t give any of my stuff away. A grandson that thinks fishing is ok but cleaning is yucky I would give it all to him but doesn’t want it, and of course I don’t get that either, so………—its good stuff, half off or more so watch for the fire sale later on. I really thank ones that bought, a real pleasure! Actually got into baking, —been fun but rather be fishing. When I sold my boat I asked for this I guess— I thot I’d hook up with someone but to no avail-Sorry I am whining, just miss it, so I have become the whiner—old story 2’s a couple , 3’s a crowd and totally understand, looks like perch are doing good out there. One’s I have been given are really nice and thick—not many jumbo’s they say-but the 9” ones are nice from what I saw and cleaned. Sounds like some on here are still ailing, and some worse—hope things get better for you all-till next time, God Bless and straight lines!
welcome back kenny,,,glad you are doing ok
nothing really new here either,,just taking it one day at a time...went out to dinner with an ole girlfriend last night,,and her boyfriend..was nice to get out and just sit and relax and talk
im really missing not having my boat anymore..the guy that bought it only lives like 4 blocks from,,so,i could go over and see it when i want to...but then it will make feel like im stalking him,,hahaha...but hes been taking me fishing in it a few times already..which is really nice.
today is 20 months since guy had his stroke..its been a long rough road for us..but im still muddling thru.
ive decided i needed a few changes to perk me up..so,i went shopping for some clothes,,,new shoes,,and colored my hair..tried to get rid of some of the gray hair,,it worked..
today,i go get my eye exam,,,its been a few years..i know i need to do this,,then i will get new glasses...gotta have my eyesight so i can see what im doing.
other than that,,same o same o.
I have been just like everybody else, busy. Blackberries are ripe and I try to pick them for an hour or 2 in the morning before Judy gets up. If anybody in the Eau Claire area would like to pick a few, pm me and I will tell you how to get here. I barely make a dent in what is out there. They are drying up fast in this heat though. Sure wish we would get a couple inches of rain.
I had problems with Judy for the past couple days and I was starting to get worried. She would not raise her head and when I would try to feed her, everything from the previous bite would run out of her mouth when I gave her the next bite. I brought her to day care on Tuesday and all they managed to get down her for the whole day was a cup of applesauce and a cup of yogurt. She must burn at least 2500 calories a day so that was hardly a starter for her.
This morning she was all perky and even though her head was still down, it was not as bad as the previous few days and I got her a oatmeal down along with a bunch of blackberries and was able to get a peanut butter sandwich down for lunch. After lunch we went to the mall and walked around it on time. I still have to wonder about that neurologist that said there is no way she could be walking with the damage to her brain.
I am barely keeping my hanging baskets alive. I don't know if it would help to put them in the shade or not, but I don't have enough hangers to hang them in the shade. Might be able to get a few into the shade.
