Here we go again. Let's try not to turn this one into another political thread and get it yanked again, please.

Nice couple of days we just had. NXTL and ATSN gainers for me. RBAK down the toilet and SONS back up over three. Remember when these stocks were neck and neck? Guess which one I picked? What do you guys think, hang on to RBAK a bit longer or flush it before delisting?

How about LU?

The war is over and earnings look good. Gosh, I almost detect hint of positive thinking about the economy these days. Naw, couldn't be!

Huge rotation out of bonds? Maybe? Could be. The big bet is; there will be someone there when you want to sell out at much higher pricing. It is not gloom and doom to consider the negative side. The 2nd Law of Thermodynamics will win out... Small investors are always the last buyer at high prices.

I know exactly how the stock market works... first it kills my 401k because I needed high risk to recover from divorce, so rolled the dice, and the stock market took a dump on me, but I hung on, and after a few years of creeping success,my stock approached what I had set as the demark point... so early December I made the call and rolled it all into a rather safe IRA...with a 10% earnings.... since then my stock has gone up 6.96/share as of today's close... ...and that's how the stock market works! DOH!!!! DANG!!! Wondering Angry oh well, I really thought it was going to tumble so I played my cards I expect some thank you beers from buddies still in...!! hahaha

Find someone that claims they know exactly how the market works, and all show you a compulsive liar. Smile The major issue is the debt ceiling and lack of a federal budget. Our pals in Washington just keep kicking the can down the street when they pass patchwork legislation that avoids the fiscal cliff or raises the debt ceiling for a couple of months. The market will continue to be very unstable until long term spending reform comes out of Washington. And I sure wouldn't hold my breath on that.

I'll tell you right off that I know diddly about the stock market and all the ups and downs and the reasons why. Having said that, there seems to be a discussion in various news sources that suggest another big slide coming and "all these people with inside knowledge" are getting out of the market. Does anyone here have any thought on that actually happening or is this a chicken little squawking that the sky is falling. Seems like allot of it is coming from the conservative side of the political center if you know what I mean. The other end of the center seems to say things are slowly getting better.??? I AM FOR SURE NOT looking for a political discussion. I would just like some thought from those that know the market and how it actually works.

I wish I would have picked up some Netflix earlier this month when I did some research and bought some other stocks. Netflix was up 66% this week. The stocks are purchased on 1/8 are up a total of 5.5% though, which isn't a bad return for 2.5 weeks.

you know I didn't even consider getting in on Face Book. If it gets low enough I might but not until things calm down.

Let's get back to the Stock Market and where to invest. Example. I was watching the Barret Jackson auto auction, the SPX advertisement was in the background. I remember years ago when I worked for Best Power, which SPX owned at the time, they were so far removed from what they owned that they were selling our competitors equipment.

I now invest in me and mine, education and dedication will get us further than corporations and Wall Street. My income has doubled in one year, by keeping overhead low (no lazy employees) networking the correct people and staying within my bids for jobs (No Whining). I can't wait for the economy to pick up.

In other words. I will not put an investment in the Stock Market. I will buy gold and silver and hide it and lead to protect it.

Then the democrats need to start talks of one of theirs running against Obama. This isn't a partisan issue. I don't think the guy said we need a leader from a different party, he said we need new leadership. The fact is, the guy we have right now isn't doing so well. Terrible in fact.
