Custom strings made by Tim Zimmerman at TAZ Archery in Woodstock, IL. He builds the factory strings for the Elite Tour bow so I am fairly confident he can build a decent string for my 4 year old GT500.
I had poor luck with a pair of WC strings/cables for my Switchback. Not sure if it was the strings or the installer, but they frayed within 3 months.
Both great Materials, 452X made by BCY. VTX made by Brownell both will shoot in and settle fast, both will be stable to keep a peep from rotating..I have used both and both were awsome! but i think VTX will hold up longer, i have had no issues getting 12k to 15 k shots on either materials.
Along with Vaportrail customer service and other great products they offer to Archers you cant go wrong with either.
I believe they use VTX unless you specify you want BCY.
I have proline on my commander and Xring strings on my maxxis. The commie has many more shots as it is my indoor rig and the set is holding up great, peep is rock solid.I have no complaints of Xring either tho this bow gets shot less as its 3d and hunting, again holding up great and no peep issues.Keep in mind the commie is notoriusly tough on cables. My kids Vtec has a set of local customs that frayed bad with way to little of use.It seems to me Proline is a great value-great product, much cheaper than winners choice
One thing I noticed about fuzzing...dont wax your strings much! do it before hunting season for the elements, I have waxed my stock strings on my Elite 2 times and they still look new! kind of blows my mind how good them strings are. the kids flo green VTs have been waxed like 2 times and have no fuzz! from what i have read is the wax will cause them to fuzz a bit.
learned this tip from a buddy.
Oh yeah, Vaportrails on my VXL and new VTs going on the Pure when i can outside to get sighted in.
