Done with Cuddeback.. Had 2 Capture IR's and one Capture and two don't work at all and the other chews batteries up in a week. All three were sent back and came back with the same problems 4 weeks later. Their first made in America edition was the best - downhill from there.
Not sure what to buy anymore. Might just go back to the old days of being surprised what the heck walks by while hunting.
The fact that Cuddeback has a program in place where you can send in our out of warranty cameras that don't work and use them as credit towards purchasing that same model or other models directly from them at half the price of what you pay in the store should tell you everything you need to know about the quality of cuddeback trail cams.
I had so many problems with my CB and their p-p service that I finally gave up. My wife had to throw the cameras out because I couldn't stand to do it myself after so much time and money was invested.
I now run Moultrie, my dad and inlaws have also all switched. Out of 10 moultrie cameras we had one that ate batteries, they replaced it. I was happy with thier CS and will continue to buy Moultrie.
I would rather tie a string to an old 35 MM camera than buy from Cuddieback.
I had 2 Captures. They worked for 2 years. Then they ate the batteries so bad I junked them. I went with a Moultrie m80 and am happy with it so far. Also went with a Reconyx. I'm sure it will last 10 years but the pics are not that good at night and the ir flash does not light up the edges of the pic. Lots of eyes on the end of the photo with not enough lifght to see the difference between a small buck and a doe. just an example.
After they told me one of the techs would call me , I haven't heard from anyone for 4 days. They send me through hours of troubleshooting. They send me back a faulty reconditioned camera. They make me pay for postage to them. And last but certainly not least I'm out the initial $125 that I paid for the trailcam. Hard to find anything good about CUDDEBACK in the previous facts. What a disgrace to the trailcam world and to the businesses of Wisconsin. The only thing that would change my opinion of them is if they would just send me a new one and that works good.By the way, they say they can't send me a new one because they don't make that model anymore.....Duh....Just send me a different model. Just a notice to all Lakelinkers . Read this and you make your decision on which trailcam to buy. Gforce
I also have trouble with my cuddeback capture ir trail cam and I am finding that the people that now run the company up at Green Bay are giving me very poor service under warranty. The flash stopped working 2 weeks after I got it. After hours on the phone and trouble shooting they told me to send it in. Instead of giving me a new one they sent me a reconditioned one which also has a faulty flash on it. What a runaround they are sending me through. First I had brand new Walgreen batteries in the camera and they said I had to go out and buy brand new Duracells. So I did that and when the camera did not work after that they told me that I could have bought "brand new" bad batteries so now they want me to go out and buy another set of brand new Duracells. What a bunch of yahoos. A disgrace to a State that takes pride in their field equipment. Another thing about their service is that you talk to a trouble shooter first and when that does not work they say that the technician will call you in a couple of days. Where's the service. Let's get it fixed now or have me send it in now. Definitely will not be buying another one unless they send me a new one without faults.
Have you formatted the card? Always a good idea with new cards to put them in your computer and format them first. I have capture, decided to stop flashing this year. I will not buy another cuddeback, they take great picturs, but I have had issues with all 3 units at the end of the first, or start of the second year.
