Took mine to Team Smack Down Outdoors, located just north of Medford WI. They did a great job. These guys will custom make any metal to fit anything you want. They made mine simple per my request, just the stand and a hanger for his shed from the previous year. They have a ton of examples on their facebook page. Check them out.

Thought i would post a pic of my euro mount. I used the maceration process. Very simple and would never boil again. Put in water and keep around 90 degrees, i used a fish tank heater. Change water every couple days, but keep a quarter of the nasty water, this is your bacteria. In 9 days it was clean. Then you degrease with clean water and dawn dish soap. I then picked up a plaque from willfish 4food on lake-link. Very nice and has great direction on how to mount. I only used one screw into base of skull and it is going nowhere.
Wondering if anyone has a european mount that they've done that has a picture integrated into the plaque. If so, please post any pictures. I had to put my dog down yesterday due to her having spine issues. So yesterday was filled with lots of "last times" for us. I brought her for a last ride in the truck, last walk to the mailbox, and one last run through the feild in the backyard. While doing that we stumbled upon a dead 5 pointer that I am now going to get a european mount of and put her picture next to it as a memorial. Just looking to see how others have done things to get some ideas.
You shouldn't have to screw the dowel in after gluing it. I practiced it a couple times on a piece of thin scrap wood, to find the length and position of the dowel I liked. Then used the piece of wood as a template for drilling the hole. That'd work even better for you, since you can use it as a template for drilling an angled hole after getting the angle you want. The skull mostly hides it, but it can be seen. I like it.
I take 2" drywall screws up from the bottom and drill them into the skull where the pallete is in the mouth (they are hidden by the teeth when displayed. Then I take some strong transparent glue and put a few drops where the back of the skull meets the wood. The screw holes on the bottom of the plaque can't be seen anyways because of the way it sits...
Drill a hole in the 45deg plaque, and glue in the appropriate size dowel. Have the dowel cut to length such that it can be inserted into the hole where the spinal cord would come out of the skull, but not so long that it would bottom out on the skull top. Slide the skull over the dowel and it's done, and not permanently affixed so you can move them around, or swap between plaques if ever wanted. Will see if I can find a picture.
edit: Don't have a close-up pic handy, but can take one later. My first post below, with the pic of the doe and 10ptr, both of those are on a dowel. The other ones I used a screw, but I'll be using a dowel from here on out. Nice to be able to easily remove them from the plaque, and they are on there stable.
