Yes, you can leave the battery as is. Some of these "tender" type charges will also come with 2 or 3 sets of attachments. One set is the typical alligator clips and the other will have the ring terminals that you attach permanently to the battery. Mine also came with a cigarette lighter plug. Route the extension from the battery and put the plug somewhere where it out of harms way (mine is on the handlebars near the grip) and simply plug the charger into the extension when you want to charge. Comes in very handy especially with new machines that have the battery in hard to access areas.
How do these work for the winter months, especially for a non-heated garage. I know you're not supposed to charge a frozen battery. If a battery is sitting outside for a while in the cold garage, is this a concern or not?
I have a lower voltage battery charger, I purchased this year. How do you determine what makes it a battery tender or not? Is it just that it shuts back off and on when needed??? thanks.
