Went out 2/28 straight out from the lighthouse just had fish looking for most of the morning not a lot biting. Solid foot of ice tho. Went out 3/1 early in the am and was going to cross the bay out by the lighthouse noticed open water spots and very thin ice. Went thru up to my waist after turning around and heading back in! Be careful out there!!

Gave it a shot this morning from about 7-10. Caught 3 small perch. I successfully kept my jig away from most of 'em. The few bluegills I saw came in and sat under the jig, then swam away. It didn't matter if I kept it still, jigged it slightly, jigged it heavy, rose up on 'em, or any combination of those things. They just wouldn't eat. It was cold, and unproductive, but I didn't get skunked and it sure beat sitting around the house.
