Fished with Dimitry and Anna for 8 hours for crappies in lot of wind. Was hard to find slack water that was warm enough to hold many crappies. We would get a few here and there but we worked for them. We got them all with in a foot of logs against the bank with a fathead minnows. Thanks guys it was fun and a very nice day.

Spent the day on the Willow flowage today. It was my first time ever fishing here. Water temp is up to 62 degrees. I was expecting to find walleyes on points near the channel, but I was mistaken. I saw many people fishing very close to shore. Almost like they were crappie fishing, but I assume they were walleye fishing. Anyways, I didn’t see anybody catch any. And I got 1 18 inch walleye.

Well after an awesome weekend I didn’t think It could get any better, Monday with the wind blowing in the Walleyes were really up just feet from the bank or bushes. So I had Ross, Kate and Dale in the boat for all day trip. I’m not even going to put a number out there because you would not believe it. We had 5 hours of nonstop walleyes. We had a few spots that we only got one fish and in ten minutes we moved. Color didn’t matter with the wind we used 3/16 oz jigs and worked them fast along the bottom and the walleyes were hard hitting for sure. Thanks guys it was great.

Fished today with Mike and son Cade for 6 hours. Walleye’s are still shallow and more aggressive in the morning. We caught around 45 all over the lake. A lot of them were just on sand caught on jig and minnows. We had a 26” walleye and a really nice pike we kept and 9 keepers. Thanks guys it was fun and kids are great when they like to fish. I have to days open at the end of this week.

Anyone know what the ice situation is on the Willow?  Last I heard there was well over a foot, hoping it melts soon....

Bduncan, one bit of advice I would give you is don't go up on a Friday after work or a Saturday, will not find a campsite or will waste 2 or 3 hours driving around the lake looking for one.  Either go up Thursday or before or Friday morning, this will save you a lot of grief.  Pack light, and make sure you have a gps/navigation depth finder if possible, it will enhance your fishing.
