I expect it will go up some by next weekend.  But, that is crazy low for this time of year with no snow pack left.

I posted a report for last Friday and its no longer here.  I managed two fish Fiday evening, one 21 1/2" snagged in the petorial fins and on 28 1/2" that weighed 9.9lbs.  Many thanks to the guys in the Lund that weighed her before releasing.

As everyone knows the water level is extremely LOW.... but I was still able to figure out a pattern to put a few legal fish in the bucket to take home, and I was shore fishing

Fished Friday afternoon 3/15, slow bite until the last hour of light the bite improved a little. Kept 3 males and released 4 females in the eater size range. Caught 8 over 20 inches, some spawned out which wasn't a surprise with water temps from 45-47.

Saturday was not great with the wind. Only managed 3 eaters but only kept 2 males and released 1 plump 18.5 female. Maybe 10 or so shorts.

Very weird year. It will be interesting to see how things go with the weather turning colder after water temps were up to 47.

For those that are unfamiliar with this stretch use caution and get advise on navigation. I suggest talking to the Rivers Edge bait shop for tips on hazardous areas. I have seen 2 boats damage props/lower units. I borrowed tools to one so he could put on a spare prop. The other boat broke nearly the entire skeg off but was still able to get around. Lowest water levels I have seen at this time of year and I've been fishing this stretch of river for 30 years.

Partly Sunny
Water: 45°
Braved out the winds today with my little one and a friend. Water temp was 44-45. Lots of smaller walleye caught with two legal fish for the box. Both legals were 17 inches and caught on live bait. Caught fish on plastics today and live bait with live bait seeming to be a  more productive for us today. Green jig and green plastics seemed to work well. Fish were pretty easy to see on the mega down imaging with most of our fish coming from 12-17 fow.

Tight lines,

I was hoping for a report from Fish bones yesterday . I enjoy his updates on what's biting . I'm not a good early season fisherman and like some info on catching Walleyes . My friend and I were up yesterday and didn't do well ,again . But nonetheless we still enjoy the beauty of the river . The highlight was watching the woman in the boat close to us reeling in a 42" Sturgeon . We caught 4 perch a rockbass and a small Walleye . Actually better than when we usually get skunked . Water temp was 43 degrees.

The regs do not state per water system,  so i interpret an inland body is dam to dam on river systems.  I am sure clarifications will be published by April 1.  Just keep 3 which is pleanty for an outting.

Followup..Re 2024-25 regs
I think I'm starting to figure this out , but would like some confirmation from experts,... DNR or guides here?

Is it 3 from any SINGLE body of water daily, but 5 max in total if from fishing multiple bodies in a single day?
https://dnr.wisconsin.gov/topic/Fishing/regulations/dailybag.html

However ..Pretty sure ...As far as the Dells, Wisconsin River , Lake Wisconsin and other flowages on the Wisconsin, it would all be considered the same body of water.

Also ..In other words.. the terms "Daily Bag Limit" and "Total Daily Bag Limit "  are 2 distinct numbers.
