My buddy and I fished at Clements Barge yesterday from 11 to 4. It was slow. Water was high and dirty but few weeds or debris. Probably 35 guys or so out there when we started. Bite was slow. Saw a few nice fish caught including sauger, walleye and pike. One guy caught a saugeye or sauger than was 24 1/2" and it was a beautifully colored fish. I got one sauger all day and missed a few very light bites. All the bites I got were on a 3 way with rosie reds. Most of the folks were using hair jigs but quite a few folks went home with empty stringers. That said .... there were a few guys with limits on their stringers. A few guys went down to the wall and fished but they did no better than the guys on the float. The high pressure system is my guess as to why the bite slowed way down from last week.
Fished Clements Float yesterday afternoon. Pretty slow. About 15 guys out there and nobody was slamming fish except for a few guys down by the wall who were catching white bass. I got a few redhorse and sheeps and pike. Pike came on crank baits. Redhorse and sheeps came on jigs with minnows. 80 degrees out and strong winds. River was high and dirty but nothing out of the ordinary.
