Lake Dexterville

Fished off old boat landing 2-16-2024 from 845-1200.  Emergency plank/boards by shore just in case.  No problem getting out on ice .  Drilled 6 holes 5 inches good ice, lots of cracking and booming, ice would actually move sometimes....think it was making ice.  First drop caught 7 inch crappie, thought maybe will be a good day.  3 incher after that, lost a nice fish at hole, marked some down by bottom but not much action.  Only one more angler there.  Hopefully can jump through all the hoops to post this....Woody Eckes. 

Wondering if it’s fishable yet at Dexterville? Heard people were fishing a couple of weeks ago before the warm up, not sure what the conditions are now.

Fished Dexterville thursday afternoon, March 23, 2023.  Ice/landing extremely soft...walking on sunk in 5-6 inches of slushy ice....18 inches on my cross country ski pole marked from basket up...even water in hole was slushy after I scooped it out several times...think bottom of ice deteriorating too...12 feet water off old boat landing where pretty much everyone goes on...three guys from by Rapids only other guys out there then.   Fish on bottom, light bite along with wind missed a bunch of ticks.....caught some fair gills and small perch all back swimming...quite a bit poorer ice conditions than I expected/wanted...but that's fishing!  If you're braver than me and go out on Dexter please be careful.  Thank you.
