I fished this lake for many years starting way back in the late 60s with my Uncle who knew this lake like the back of his hand. I have great memories of limiting out on Walleye's up to 10+ pounds. We used to stay at Vanderbush's resort on Crane lake in their rustic log cabins, now gone, and trade fish stories in the resorts bar with the jukebox playing late into the night. Some of my fondness memories growing up. I still fish this lake but with all the development and boat traffic miss the lake of my memories. Still a worthy lake with quality fish including trophies if you are willing to put in the time. Good Luck and have one on me at the end of your day on the lake.

Fished this lake in the 50 & 60's. No cottages on the lake and a dirt road led to the dirt landing (now paved) and the river led to a log tavern with gas light only. Plenty of walleye, my largest a empty female 11-3/4 lbs. To see a boat on opening day was very unusual.

some smallmouth. I'm not a night fisherman so I have to fight the skiers and jet children. Don't waste your time between 9am and 5 pm
