I agree Walleye1X. We launched by Chico's yesterday as well. No issues. The new owners are doing a great job. Highly recommend using their launch.Fishing is definitely slow. Our catch consisted of 2 northerns, and 4 walleye. 3 dinks and 1 keeper that was released. Hopefully this next system coming late this weekend will dump plenty of moisture!!!

Miggle,

Fished a couple days recently out of Chico’s and they’ve done a nice job of keeping the landing mostly ice free. They have everyone stop and let the trailers drain, and they have been putting down salt when needed. Mostly if common sense is used, things are pretty good.
The fishing on the other hand, not so good. Water temps have fallen about 5-6 degrees and it has definitely affected the bite. Things should pick up again as water temps rebound.

Given these colder night temps and the recent incident of gentleman breaking his hip at a local landing, how are the landings holding up regarding ice coatings?  If people pull out very slowly that always helps.

Thanks Fishfillet. I’ve tried vertical jigging with 3/8 oz. jig, but I keep busting off all the time. I thought drop shoting would solve that problem.

That's basically vehicle jigging, so yes.

Just an off the wall question, but has anyone tried  ‘drop shoting’ for walleyes on the Wolf this time of year??? I’ve been trying different techniques and have been wondering about this method.?

For the early birds when the temp is freezing or below be careful. With the low water you have to back further down the ramps to launch your boat. The ramps can be glare ice leading to a nasty fall, floating piers can also have frost on them. Still nursing a sore shoulder from my fall. Tight Lines and be safe!!!
