Fished 7-3 today. Bite was great in the morning, caught 15 walleyes and kept two- one 15” and one 16”. Water kept getting higher, faster, and dirtier throughout the day and we didn’t catch a fish after noon. Boat control became a chore with the current, and the wind didn’t help either.

On our way out we came across two guys in an older boat having motor/battery problems who were pinned against a tree in the current on the west bank south of Chuck’s Landing. Ended up towing them back to the landing, which was quite a task with the current. I’m glad we were able to help get them out before they started to get swamped.

Ice, logs, and other debris are everywhere. If you are unsure of your equipment, please stay home until the water recedes and the current is less intense! Be safe, tight lines!

Waters up but boat landing is useable. Then there is this crazy dude out there playing. :)

I would say it would be impossible to launch there right now. I could probably walk 30 yards out from landing without going over my knee high boots. Should be back up by the weekend.

With the low water, can you launch at Chuck's landing?  Any recent reports....anyone been out?

Caught 15" Flathead, numerous white bass, 4 smallies and one was a good 18". Caught some very small Walleye and a 10 or 11" Crappie. Fish were jumping out of the water all day and the Red Horse were everywhere.

Caught a 22" channel cat, a 24" Northern, a 17" smallie, 6 white bass, 62 crappies (just as many released) & a grip load of small-eyes here the few days throughout the last two weeks. Waiting for the white bass to make their run though they may have already been done (that rhymed)? Water temps & levels I don't think are warm enough. Help keep us posted & I will do the same on these other species I'm hitting.
