Fished 7-3 today. Bite was great in the morning, caught 15 walleyes and kept two- one 15” and one 16”. Water kept getting higher, faster, and dirtier throughout the day and we didn’t catch a fish after noon. Boat control became a chore with the current, and the wind didn’t help either.
On our way out we came across two guys in an older boat having motor/battery problems who were pinned against a tree in the current on the west bank south of Chuck’s Landing. Ended up towing them back to the landing, which was quite a task with the current. I’m glad we were able to help get them out before they started to get swamped.
Ice, logs, and other debris are everywhere. If you are unsure of your equipment, please stay home until the water recedes and the current is less intense! Be safe, tight lines!
