Water flow has come down substantially.  I’m sure there are trees down that may impact shore fishing spots.  But, it is July on the Wisconsin, so the catfish will be active.   Check your messages..

Thinking of trying to make a trip up Thursday to try for some catfish. Could anyone tell me if the river is high and dirty up this far? I would be fishing from shore, any recommended areas to try would be great, or recent reports if they've been hitting.

The stretch of river between the Whiting and Point dams has what you are looking for for smallmouth and muskies.  There are several areas to put in a kayak along West River Drive. Between the Whiting dam and the spillway has good numbers of smallmouth too.  Can access that off of Tommys Turnpike.

I am starting college soon at Stevens point and wondering if anyone knows any musky or smallmouth spots I could try. Of course catch and release any spots will help very much and be appreciated. I also have a kayack. Any advice helps a lot thanks.

We are from the eau claire area. I am going to be in the Steven's point this weekend for a baseball tournament with my son. He doesn't have a game until sat afternoon. We were thinking trying a little fishing from shore. Could anyone give us some areas we can fish? We were thinking of trying to hit a dam or 2. I'm looking for musky and he wants to target smallies. Dont need any hot spots but more of the best way to get to the dams to fish from shore. Thanks for any advice.
